Vaishali Thanawala is a board-certified Physician Assistant. She is a proud graduate of North Carolina State University where she received a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Masters of Physiology. After her studies, she received training at Campbell University’s Physician Assistant program. Vaishali has experience working in various clinical settings, including private practice, hospital, corporate weight loss, and the public health department.
Vaishali began her career providing preventative care to women in a community health setting. She later transitioned to the field of psychiatry where she found her passion for mental health as well as her drive for building lasting relationships with her patients and providing continuity of care. Vaishali has experience in both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric settings. She enjoys treating various conditions including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, ADHD, and substance use disorders. In addition to practicing evidence-based medicine, she has a special interest in integrative psychiatry, and incorporates medication-free options that are essential to the patient’s overall well-being. Vaishali values patient-centered care by using an individualized and holistic approach.
She is a North Carolina native, and currently resides in Raleigh with her husband. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, cooking new recipes, reading, spending time with friends and family, and exploring new coffee shops.
