Catherine Jung, DMSc, MPAS, PA-C, is a board-certified Physician Assistant and Psychiatric provider at Avance Care Psychiatry in Raleigh, North Carolina.
She completed her Bachelor of Science in Psychology with minors in Biology and Chemistry at Virginia Commonwealth University and went on to earn her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Gardner-Webb University. Driven by her passion for medical education and leadership, Ms. Jung pursued a Doctorate in Medical Science with a concentration in Advance Professional Practice in Psychiatry from the University of Lynchburg. This advanced training provided her with a deep understanding of psychiatric illnesses and their profound impact on a patient’s well-being and physical health.
Believing in the significance of interpersonal relationships and effective communication with patients, Ms. Jung actively listens, empathizes, and builds trust to deliver comprehensive care. Patient education on psychiatric disorders and psychotropic medications is fundamental to her approach, as she values shared decision-making with her patients. Employing evidence-based medicine and adopting a multidisciplinary approach, she collaborates with other experts to ensure her patients’ highest quality of care. Her ultimate goal is to inspire and empower patients to live their lives to their fullest potential.
Ms. Jung has worked with patients of all ages, ranging from pediatrics to geriatric individuals. Her extensive experience encompasses the treatment of various psychiatric conditions, including PTSD, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, eating disorders, autism, ADHD, personality disorders, psychosis, and neurodegenerative diseases.
Originally hailing from the DMV area, she now calls Raleigh, NC, her home. She enjoys engaging in activities such as pickleball, traveling, biking, hiking with her corgi named Molly, and exploring new restaurants.
