Brook Evans, DMSc, PA-C, is a board-certified Physician Assistant serving patients at Avance Psychiatry Charlotte in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Brook earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Clemson University and completed her Physician Assistant training at the Medical University of South Carolina. She holds a Certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQ) in Psychiatry and a Doctor of Medical Science (DMSc) degree with a focus in psychiatry. Before specializing in mental health, Brook gained valuable experience in urgent care, which helped build a strong foundation in diagnosing and managing a wide range of medical conditions.
Brook treats adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients, with a primary focus on adults experiencing depression, anxiety, OCD, ADHD, PTSD, bipolar disorder, and personality disorders. She believes in a collaborative, holistic approach to care that centers on shared decision-making. Brook prioritizes understanding each patient’s concerns and treatment preferences, always aiming to simplify medication regimens when possible and incorporate lifestyle strategies—such as therapy and exercise—to support long-term well-being.
Her approach to diagnosis is thorough, working closely with primary care providers to rule out underlying medical causes through appropriate testing. Brook creates a safe, judgment-free environment and often shares her own experiences to help normalize mental health struggles and encourage healing.
Outside of the office, Brook enjoys spending time with family and friends, trying new exercise classes like hot yoga and Pilates, taking long walks, and being a proud cat mom. She is passionate about building strong, trusting relationships with her patients and is committed to continuous learning as a member of the Neuroscience Education Institute (NEI) and the Association of PAs in Psychiatry (APAP).
