Nakalya Leggett, MSW, LCSW, is a graduate from North Carolina State University’s social work master’s program. She received her undergraduate social work degree from Winston Salem State University. Nakalya has experience working in level-three group homes for at-risk youth, maternity homes for teen mothers, day treatment facilities, intensive in-home programs, adult daycare centers, and outpatient therapy settings.
Nakalya utilizes evidence-based Practice Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help her patients decrease mental health symptoms that include, but are not limited to: depression, anxiety, behavioral and emotional regulation, self-esteem/self-empowerment, grief and loss, and relationship/family conflict. Nakalya is trained in trauma modalities that specifically address traumatic experiences affecting children/adolescents.
Nakalya is from a small town in North Carolina called Elizabethtown. She is married to her high school sweetheart and has three small children. In her free time, she enjoys relaxing and exploring different adventures with family and friends.
