Kate Maynor, LCSW (they/them) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing therapy to patients at Avance Psychiatry in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Kate earned their Bachelor of Social Work from Marywood University and their Master of Social Work from the University of Nevada, Reno. Since starting their clinical journey, Kate has worked in outpatient, inpatient, and residential settings, assisting children, families, and adults with various behavioral health needs. Their approach is influenced by Attachment and Adlerian theories, which explore how relationships and environment shape behavior. They emphasize the importance of the therapeutic relationship and tailor treatment using an eclectic approach to meet an individual or family needs.
Kate incorporates mindfulness, play, CBT, DBT, Natural Lifesmanship, and Attachment-Based Family Therapy strategies in sessions. Kate is certified in Triple P Parenting and has extensive experience providing parenting guidance to families. Kate specializes in working with neurodivergent individuals, adolescents, and young adults in the LGBTQIA+ community. They are dedicated to promoting equity and inclusion in all spaces.
Outside of work, Kate enjoys spending time with their spouse and toddler, caring for their three dogs and two cats. They enjoy traveling, learning about different cultures, immersing themselves in nature, volunteering with and participating in HRC events to support the LGBTQIA+ community, and practicing yoga. They are a proud member of the National Social Work Honor Society and Golden Key International Honour Society.
