Taylor Hawkins, PA-C is a board-certified physician assistant and psychiatric provider serving patients at Avance Psychiatry in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
Taylor grew up in North Carolina and focused her schooling in the state. She attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. Following graduation, Taylor attended Wingate University, where she received her Master in Physician Assistant studies. Immediately after receiving her degree, she went on to pass her certification exam and began working in the field of psychiatry.
Taylor has experience with a variety of psychiatric conditions, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and ADHD. Her current focus is working with adult patients. She has experience caring for patients of all ages, from pediatrics to adults. Taylor believes care should incorporate a holistic approach by considering the whole person’s physical, emotional, social, and psychological well-being. She also emphasizes patient autonomy and their experiences, encouraging informed shared decision-making and collaboration. In addition to this, Taylor believes in the importance of evidence-based treatments and interventions, accomplishing this through continuing medical education.
Taylor loves spending time with family and friends and exploring the Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill areas in her free time. She enjoys trying new restaurants, spending time outdoors, and going to the gym. She is an avid reader and enjoys playing video games and spending time with her cat, Poppyseed.
